Most Maryland public school systems, along with colleges and universities, announced they will be closed Tuesday due to the weekend’s severe winter storm.

More than 11 inches of snow and sleet fell on parts of the state, leaving many roads impassable. Even though the snow has stopped, the rest of the week is projected to be bitterly cold, with temperatures dropping into the single digits.

Many school systems canceled classes on Monday, as did colleges and universities across the state. Here’s what we know about school and college closures for the rest of the week.
